A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales & Operations Freight Forwarder to join our client, a growing logistics company based in Slough. The successful candidate will have previous experience in the logistics forwarding industry, including global transport logistics and customs clearance, for air, sea and ground freight and will have knowledge of CargoWise. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the freight forwarding operations for customers, as well as driving sales growth and revenue generation. This position offers superb career progression with access to ongoing education and training courses and opportunities to travel depending on business needs. Due to the nature of the role, some occasional overtime and weekend availability is required.

Salary: up to £32k per annum depending on experience, plus discretionary bonus (for new business); pension and private medical insurance.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 6pm. Fully office based in Slough (parking on site provided).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and bringing on board new clients and nurturing their accounts.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and partners, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Manage all aspects of the freight forwarding process, including customs clearance, shipping, delivery, and any other relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a small team.

Key Requirements:

  • Two years' experience in the logistics/ freight forwarding industry, including global transport logistics and customs clearance, for air, sea and ground freight.
  • Knowledge of freight forwarding software and systems, in particular CargoWise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Ability to think outside of the box and acting in the clients' best interests at all times.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth in the logistics field (desirable).
  • DGSA qualification (desirable).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Occasional overtime and weekend availability.
