Experienced Bookkeeper

We are a family run accountancy practice looking to acquire an experience Bookkeeper to join our team in Broxbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for bookkeeping of small companies and sole traders carrying out their VAT Returns as well as some administration duties. The successful candidate will lead a small team of bookkeepers and run this area of the business by managing workflow, on boarding new bookkeeping clients, advising bookkeepers, answering queries from client as well as helping to grow this section of the business.

Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Bookkeeping for a range of clients
  • Preparation and filing of VAT Returns
  • Admin Support for clients
  • Supporting other staff and managing work flow
  • Supporting the introduction of new clients
  • Managing client queries

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Be proficient with cloud-based bookkeeping software such as Xero as well as Sage and Vital Tax
  • Be familiar with HMRC requirements
  • Be able to effectively manage their time
  • A confident communicator to deal independently with clients
  • Some knowledge of payroll would be beneficial
  • Ability to commute to Broxbourne

Experience: Accountancy Practise or Bookkeeping: at least 2 years (required)

Salary: Up to £28,000 per year depending on experience (pro rata for part time)
