Sub Contract Manager
Bilston, West Midlands 
£35,000 - £40,000 

We are currently seeking a Sub Contract Manager to join a leading manufacturer of bespoke fasteners. The Sub Contract Manager will be directly responsible for overseeing the purchasing and receipt of subcontracted services such as plating, heat treatment, testing, and machining.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery of services from sub-contractors
  • Build close relationships with Operations Manager, Production Planning Team and Dispatch/Logistics team. 
  • Coordinate with suppliers to communicate timelines and requirements for each order
  • Track and report on the status of all orders in progress
  • Resolve any issues or delays in the delivery of services
  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure accurate ordering and forecasting
  • Coordinate with the production team to schedule services in alignment with production needs
  • Sourcing and negotiating contracts with external suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of services, and maintaining quality standards
  • Continuously improve and streamline the expediting process to increase efficiency

Qualifications:
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials preferred
