About Global Marketing
Led by the firm's first Chief Marketing Officer, the Global Marketing function at Goldman Sachs is a unified horizontal organization, having come together to codify a business-critical function seen as core to the firm's future growth. As such, GS has built out a data-and-technology enabled team of growth marketers, delivering value for the brand and the business. The organization consists of a number of key, senior-level COE roles in areas such as Brand Marketing and Content, as well as senior marketing leads for each of our key revenue businesses. Together, this team collaborates on a scaled and consistent approach to marketing the brand and its offerings. Our mission is to be a demonstrable force multiplier for the businesses we serve, focused on protecting the firm's reputation while adding value as an incremental distribution channel for commercial priorities.
Within Global Marketing sits the Content group, which is charged with representing Goldman Sachs to the public. They do this by:
  • Driving the full lifecycle of content for the firm, including strategy and planning, publishing, distribution, analytics, measurement and technology
  • Developing improved governance to ensure content is built for purpose, and can be leveraged across our full array of audiences and channels
  • Incubating new content formats and products while seeking new ways to reach and engage different audiences
  • Collaborating with content creators and editors-in-chief across the firm, uniting our commitment to innovation and experimentation in one of our greatest assets, our thought leadership and insights
Role Summary :
The Content Producer will play a key role in developing Goldman Sachs' flagship public newsletter, Briefings, a weekly summary of the firm's most engaging intelligence about the global economy, markets, business, and technology. The Content Producer will be responsible for content creation, curation, and production, working alongside editorial teams in the Executive Office and businesses across the firm. The Content Producer will also be responsible for sourcing and writing content for Goldman Sachs' public-facing website (GS.com/intelligence) that supports the firm's thought leadership and targets key audiences to drive engagement and achieve commercial outcomes. The ideal candidate must be an excellent writer and fact checker and have strong attention to detail. They should have a working understanding of financial markets and macroeconomics as well as a mind for data.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage the content creation and production process for the firm's weekly external email newsletter, Briefings
  • Draft copy and manage other elements related to distribution of newsletter content across digital and social channels
  • Manage legal, compliance, and stakeholder approval process for article and newsletter content
  • Oversee sending of newsletters and distribution to over 500K subscribers, including executing A/B tests; manage template and other visual elements of the newsletter
  • Support related editorial operations, e.g. editorial calendar, meeting notes

Position Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in journalism or communications.
  • Very strong writing skills, very strong fact checking and proofreading skills, and sound editorial judgement
  • Experience in writing about financial markets (stock markets, alternatives, fixed-income) and macroeconomics is strongly desired.
  • Specific experience producing email newsletters is preferred.
  • Strong project manager who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfort and ability to present complex material.
  • Collaborative work approach and ability to work well across a dynamic global team.
