Executive Legal Secretary

I am working with an offshore law firm whom are looking for an Executive Legal Secretary to work in the Cayman Islands within IDR (Insolvency and Dispute Resolution). The salary is US$75,000-US$80,000 and is tax free.
The candidate is required to have 5-6 years’ experience working within a medium to large size law firm together with a legal qualification is preferred.

Overview of Role
The firm are seeking an experienced secretary and a self-starter who has the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. The successful candidate must have the ability to assess and prioritise workloads to ensure a high level of client service can be delivered by the lawyer(s) they are supporting. They are looking for someone who thrives on challenges, is professional, team oriented, highly organised, detail oriented and have the ability to operate with the strictest of confidentiality
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
Supporting other members of the secretarial team and work collaboratively with them to complete work to a high standard and meet required deadlines
Providing cover for other secretaries within the team during times of absence, as required
Creating and typing Court pleadings, legal documents and correspondence
Ensuring timely filing of Court pleadings with the Grand Court Indexing and compiling Court bundles in preparation for hearings Locating relevant legislation and precedent cases, including preparing authorities bundles for Court when necessary
Extensive involvement of Associate's billing, including analysing work in progress and accounts receivable reports, preparing and raising appropriate matters for invoicing, sending same to clients and also following up on non-payments where necessary
Filing various winding up or restoration documents with Grand Cayman's Registrar of Companies, also requesting certain certificates and information regarding Cayman-registered companies from the Registrar of Companies
Compiling company searches to ascertain where registered Arranging for documents to be apostilled/legalised where necessary
To maintain accurate records and correspondence files in relation to the Lawyer's client files To liaise with clients as appropriate and in accordance with Lawyer's instructions and firm policies.
To be familiar with, and comply with, Firm policies relevant to the purpose of the job.
To participate in special projects as and when required in relation to the Firm's and the Lawyer's practice areas.
To carry out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the job, including the performance of duties outside normal working hours.
Education, Skills & Experience
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to use legal precedents and billing systems
A recognised legal secretarial qualification from a recognised university or college and/or minimum of 3 - 5 years’ legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Copy and audio typing speeds of at least 60 - 70 wpm with an accuracy of 98% Work independently and as a team member
Tact and diplomacy to deal with confidential matters
Manage a complex and demanding workload and prioritise tasks and projects to meet work standards and personal performance targets
Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with people at all levels of understanding. This will include high quality correspondence
Participate in continuously improving services through critically evaluating systems of work, promoting new ideas and actively developing service improvements
Work in a flexible manner and respond to changing circumstances and emergency situations Ability and willingness to occasionally work overtime when requested.
