Our client a well-respected and reputable international Finance Trade Association is currently looking for an Events and Membership Manager to work from their London offices on hybrid basis.

The job purpose.

The focus of this role is to engage, work with and manage relationship with our members to meet their needs and achieve the aims and objectives.

This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with members and delivering a wide range of tasks and activities to support their needs.

Key role responsibilities include:

1. Relationship management: You will be an important liaison point with members, building and maintaining strong relationships with key and principal contacts of our members to understand and support their needs. It will involve maintaining and reviewing member’s data, managing membership fees, and supporting any requests members may have. It also involves helping connect member firms with each other and identifying members to support initiatives and projects.

Managing, organising, and attending global events: You will proactively lead and organise the delivery of virtual and international in-person events (ranging from 20- 180 attendees), including budget management, venue negotiation, agenda creation and topic identification, and planning a strategy to maximise attendance.

3. Working with the regional boards as secretariat: You will organise, attend, take minutes and follow-up on action points of regional board meetings, and facilitate and drive global/regional initiatives and projects that benefit members and common interest groups.

4. Enhancing the brand: You will work closely with the marketing team in enhancing and promoting brand awareness amongst members and their marketplace, and identify and maximise communication, marketing, and publicity opportunities for the benefit of members.

5. Membership recruitment and development: You will support the recruitment of new members, the induction of new members to our values, vision, and mission. This may involve dealing with member enquiries and actively seeking and researching markets for new members.

6. General support: This is a small team, therefore there will be some aspects of day-to-day office management and operation included in the role.

Essential skills, experience and attributes required.

• 3-5 years’ experience in a member/client relations role within a professional association or in a related discipline such as member engagement, event management or marketing & communications.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, team player who thrives in a small team environment working collaboratively and supportively but is also able to work independently with a confident and consultative approach. A positive "can-do" attitude with a strong work ethic is essential in this small team.

• Good organisational skills, with an eye for details, ability to question information, meticulous in follow-up and the tenacity to deal with problems in a disciplined, firm but friendly manner.

• Advanced IT skills with particular reference to Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc).

• Practical experience and in-depth awareness of the importance of digital technology within business and for inter-personal communication.

• Good command of the English language, spoken and written. Strong communicator with good, clear and succinct presentational skills as most members’ first language is not English.

• Degree educated.
