West London based hybrid role

We are looking for an experienced Event Director to join a market leading B2B events company. In this role you will have overall responsibility for the performance of four market leading shows whilst leading a multi-disciplinary team. You will be joining one of the most respected companies within their space.

In this senior position you will be responsible for creating strategies to oversee event programs, budgets, resources, and staff, working closely with the MD. You will be focused on maximizing profits and ensuring success for high-profile events whilst collaborating with various departments for seamless event execution and managing budgets to maintain profitability. As well as managing your team you will also be providing support to senior management to help ensure the smooth running of the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Utilize research, analysis, relationship building, and market insights to implement strategies ensuring continuous growth and sustainability of the event. This includes annually updating the event's business plan.
  • Produce a coherent brand strategy for all four events to maintain and increase relevance to all markets, meeting visitor and exhibitor expectations.
  • Ensure that the marketing strategy is aligned with the event’s commercial objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to create a strategic event floor plan that aligns with budget goals and enhances visitor experience. Ensure consistent visitor traffic to exhibitor stands.
  • Identify and implement extra revenue streams and brand extension opportunities where possible.
  • Integrate into the market in order to understand industry trends and develop your event around it.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for all reporting staff.
  • Recruit and interview new staff where necessary.
  • Guide and nurture team members across all job facets, crafting a pathway for role expansion and promotion as warranted.Visit and canvas at competitor and industry events.
  • Run and manage the rebook process and rebook team.
  • Maintain excellent communication with prospects, exhibitors, and partners, ensuring the message remains precise and high-quality.

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Must have experience working within exhibitions
  • Fluent French Speaker
  • Management experience
  • Personable
  • Highly organized and an excellent communicator
  • Commercial - an ability to think commercially and develop additional revenue opportunities
  • Collaborative - a highly efficient team leader who can also collaborate with internal production teams and external clients
