Our client is one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing distributors, providing products and services to a range of clients. This role is an exciting opportunity for a European Vendor Manager, and it would be the perfect role for someone with a strong business development background to meet with Vendors across the UK and Europe, where you will be managing key accounts by developing relationships.  This role is like a mini business within a business, and you can use your marketing skills to enhance the exposure of products and supply training to teams in Europe to enable them to effectively promote products.  There is extensive travel in the role and is a fantastic opportunity for someone to see the world for free!   
 
Job responsibilities for the European Vendor Manager role:
 
The European Vendor Manager must have a strong customer focus and proactive approach to support with the following:
  •  To liaise with vendors and be their first point of contact for any   questions or queries regarding the product
  •  To effectively build relationships with Vendors both UK and EU-based,   and to effectively train and coach them to create new opportunities/promotion for the product with their customers.
  •  Understand the vendors who you will be working with and identify competitors with existing vendors
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure the business plan is supported to drive revenue and be creative in promoting, organising events as and where suitable to promote in geographical areas
  • Manage key strategic accounts and support them to optimize growth
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with Partners to ensure business plans are in place
  • Meeting with vendors across various locations within the UK and Europe. You will assist in preparing and leading Quarterly Business Reviews and business planning meetings which will focus on growth, execution, and addressing operational challenges and improvements.
  • Train the internal teams who are based across Europe to get to understand the product in its entirety.
Please note travel will be a regular part of this role, it is expected that it may be twice a month that you will be away, there will be UK and EU travel with access to a pool car (if the UK) and travel is fully funded by the company.  You will be covering Nordic and Benelux regions, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain etc.
 
  It would be good to see candidates for the European Vendor Manager     role with:
  • Experience in sales or business development is essential – ideally within a commercial setting
  • Someone who can evidence they are a self-starter and can work using their initiative – you must be a proactive individual
  • Excellent communication skills and have a strong customer focus
  • Experience in heading presentations and meetings for vendors
  • Must have a full, clean driving licence
  • You must be able to travel around the UK and Europe regularly when required by the business
  • Be a strong team player and be able to work individually where required
Hours:  Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Salary:  £26k - £28k – OTE £55-58k per annum
