Estimator

Our client is a leading fitout and refurbishment contractor specialising in transforming commercial, education, leisure, and residential spaces into functional, aesthetically pleasing environments.

Due to growth of the business, they are seeking a skilled Estimator to join their team. The Estimator will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project costs, preparing competitive bids, and contributing to the successful execution of projects within budgetary constraints. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Position Overview - Estimator

• Utilise expertise in construction methods, materials, and labour to accurately estimate project costs based on architectural drawings, specifications, and site visits.
• Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids by analysing project requirements, soliciting quotes from subcontractors and suppliers, and assessing potential risks and opportunities.
• Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for cost optimization and value engineering while maintaining project quality standards.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
• Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, address challenges, and develop accurate cost estimates that align with client expectations.
• Maintain organised and up-to-date records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and relevant project documentation to facilitate decision-making and project tracking.
• Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with project estimates and develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project profitability.

Position Requirements - Estimator

• Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on fitout and refurbishment projects (not a deal breaker).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality.

What's in it for you?

• £30,000 - £45,000 basic salary
