Are you passionate about teaching English, Maths and basic IT to learners of different backgrounds and levels? Do you have the skills and experience to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of your students?

If so, Reed Further Education are working with colleges in Birmingham who are looking for ESOL tutors.

As an ESOL teacher, you will be responsible for teaching English Language courses from Pre Entry up to the equivalent of Level 2. This may include teaching young learners and/or Job Centre groups. You will work closely with other teachers, managers, and external partners to ensure the best outcomes for your students.

The roles are temporary ongoing during term times and hours can be part-time and full-time depending on availability at the college.

Location: Hall Green, Birmingham, West Midlands

Rate: £26 - £28 including holiday pay

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. CELTA, Cert TESOL, PGCE) and a relevant subject qualification (e.g. ESOL or English)
  • Experience of teaching ESOL to adults and/or young people in a variety of contexts and levels
  • Knowledge of the ESOL curriculum and assessment frameworks
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to equality, diversity, and safeguarding
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour
  • Current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance
