US-Qualified Entertainment Lawyer - Remote Working
About Us
We are a growing entertainment law firm, acting as counsel to many of the foremost film and television production companies around the world (as well as to networks, studios and distributors). We have a particular focus on documentary and factual content, and are passionate about providing top-tier service to our clients.
We’re now seeking an ambitious US-qualified lawyer to join our UK-based team on a full-time basis.
The Role
The ideal candidate will have between 2 and 4 years of experience in the area of entertainment law (whether in private practice or in-house).
However, our principal aim is to find the right fit for our existing team, and ‘on-the-job’ training will be provided. As such, candidates with less or no specific experience of entertainment law – but who can nonetheless demonstrate the required transferrable skills – are encouraged to apply. We also welcome applications from more experienced candidates.
The successful candidate will work as part of our content/ compliance team, advising on all aspects of film/ television production per US law, and ‘vetting’ scripts/ cuts before transmission.
Some business affairs work (for example, drafting or reviewing license agreements/ contributor releases/ location releases) may be involved from time to time. Likewise, litigation preparation/ advising on pre-action disputes may also be involved from time to time.
The successful candidate may work fully remotely if desired, or may work partially or fully from our UK office (located in Derry, Northern Ireland). We currently have team members successfully working on a remote basis from various parts of the UK, and we are committed to ensuring a supportive and collaborative working culture both for those working remotely as well as those based in-office.
Note that we are unable to sponsor or provide visa assistance to prospective candidates who do not presently have the right to live and work in the UK.
Salary is negotiable depending on experience, and includes a lucrative bonus/ commission structure.
