I am currently recruiting for an Enterprise Data Architect for an expanding and very well established organisation based in Bath

Location: Bath - hybrid working offered (needed onsite 1-2 days a week)
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000

We are seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to join our Data & Technology pillar within DDaT. This role involves working closely with the Chief Data & Technology Officer (CDTO) and stakeholders to create and measure the organisation's  data strategy. You will provide data architecture leadership, set standards, and establish ways of working for the data community.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Collaborate with the CDTO and stakeholders to develop and measure the data strategy.
• Lead the architecture of the Enterprise Data Hub, ensuring it serves as a reliable source of data for insights and data-driven services.
• Set data architecture standards and practices for the data community.
• Provide blueprints and advice for projects within DDaT and the wider organisation.
• Develop and maintain a reference data architecture to support the strategy.
• Ensure system designs align with data reference architecture and standards.
• Promote the benefits of data architecture across the organisation.
• Oversee the design of data models to meet the organisation’s needs.
• Provide expertise in data standards, modelling, governance, analysis, and communication.
• Identify opportunities for innovation in the data space.
• Anticipate and prevent potential problems in the data estate.
• Guide and mentor data governance and data engineering/BI teams.
• Advocate for a strategic focus on data and communicate effectively between technical and non-technical communities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in data architecture within a complex organisation.
• Expertise in a wide-ranging technology stack including SaaS, PaaS, and custom solutions.
• Experience of working in cloud based environment - Azure or AWS preferred.
• Ability to translate functional and non-functional requirements into architectural direction.
• Strong leadership skills and experience in project delivery.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of data governance, data engineering, and BI practices.
• Experience with vendor and supplier management.
