The Company
We are supporting a Sunderland based business in their search for an Enterprise Architect. Although well established, and with a very positive view of technology at an executive level, the business haven't had anyone in an architect role in recent years. A review of resources has led to them identifying the need to being on an experienced Enterprise Architect initially who should, in the medium term, be leading a small team of solutions architects who'll add detail to the strategy they define.

The Role
This role will join a company with very little architectural experience. You will be required to build up a new approach to their IT strategy and deliver a new architectural roadmap. In recent years the business has invested in technology but due to a lack of real strategy this has not delivered the results as intended. The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for defining the future landscape once they've spent time understanding the current situation and business plans.
This will include all areas of technology, infrastructure, applications, data, security etc, and decisions around on-prem or cloud based services, business applications and business intelligence solutions.
The Person
Candidates need to be experienced Architects, ideally having worked at an Enterprise level. You should be comfortable coming into a business to build an understanding of the current, "As-is", situation before applying recognised standards and patterns to build up governance and a strategy that aligns business and IT goals.

The role is based in Sunderland and candidates should be able to easily access the office, ideally able to spend time in the office each week. Salary is up to £85,000 and there is a generous benefits package. The client is not able to provide sponsorship.
