English Teacher (Functional Skills and/or GCSE, KS 4/5)

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time Start Date: September

A new SEN secondary school is looking for an English Teacher to deliver a curriculum adapted to its unique student body, including those with ASC and SEMH. This crucial role involves developing literacy skills through engaging and effective educational practices, supported by a collaborative and forward-thinking senior leadership team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning.
• Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in line with curriculum objectives.
• Assess and record student progress and provide grades and feedback.
• Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the setting.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Proven ability to handle both Functional Skills and GCSE English curricula.
• Experience in SEN settings is preferred but not mandatory.
