Are you an experience Teacher of English? Or are you recently qualified in education and looking to specialise in English?

We are supporting a coeducational academy in the heart of the Chilterns. They have nearly 1100 student ranging from 11-18. The schools' values for both students and staff are learning, kindness and excellence; these permeate in everything they do but start with you.

If you join our staff team, you will be part of a caring, kind and supportive group of professionals who really do share a sense of belonging and camaraderie. We actively look at ways to give staff time back, whether this be with our two-week October half term, a flexible PPA which you can take at home every fortnight, or flexible use of gained time in the summer term.

They are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Teacher of English; you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team to inspire and motivate young people to discover and pursue their own passion for English. The successful candidate will understand curriculum development and delivery in English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment that enables students to thrive and achieve their full potential, both academically and creatively. As a member of the English team - which consistently achieves good progress and results at KS4 and 5 - you will benefit from:

  • Fully planned and resourced centralised curriculum across all subjects, meaning we do not expect teachers to go home and do individual planning.
  • Regular calendared development time to collaboratively plan and talk about teaching, develop professionally and reduce workload.
  • An academy with high regard and value placed on its staffing body.
  • A strong English department with a curriculum which develops engaged and well-behaved students to be creative, articulate, imaginative learners, confident and secure in their opinions and thoughts.

This role is a maternity cover contract for the whole academic year 2024/2025. If this is a role which you would like to be considered for, please apply immediate for consideration and we will be in touch to discuss the interview process.
