Opportunity to join an innovative leader in the transportation and storage of liquid products. Our client manages Europe's largest network of refined products and is expanding its operations in the US. They also have exciting new Hydrogen plant plans in the UK.

They are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (UK & Ireland) to join the team.
This role will involve regular travel into the London Head Office plus sites throughout the UK

Salary: £85-100,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

The role

To lead the Engineering team in order to ensure design, technical and operational integrity of Assets in the North West Europe region throughout their Lifecyle

  • Lead a team of multi-disciplinary professional engineers conducting engineering activities on NWE assets with responsibility for asset integrity and design/technical integrity during definition, procurement, execution and commissioning stages of NWE projects.
  • Provide strong leadership to the engineering team and oversee continuous development of engineering processes and standards in line with the organisation's values & strategic model.
  • Work with other departments to maximise asset availability, minimise downtime and reduce sustaining CAPEX and OPEX without compromising safety, legislative or corporate and/or regional inspection and/or repair requirements.
  • Ensure safe working practises are followed in line with legislation and company standards, process & procedures.
  • Champion improvement to the organisations processes & culture to continually improve leadership, communication, and collaboration.

Other key aspects of the role

  • Ensure existing assets, plant modifications and new installations are compliant with company policies, procedures, industry best practices and legal requirements.
  • Accountable for all technical decisions related to the integrity management and design of NWE process plant and equipment such as: pipelines, pipework, storage tanks, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, containment systems, structures, cathodic protection, and electrical & utility systems.
  • Liaise with the Regulatory bodies, including HSE, SEPA and Environment Agency.
  • Develop and review policies, strategies, standards, and key performance indicators to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.
  • Manage engineering resources to ensure designs, scopes of work, multidisciplinary design reviews, technical bid analysis, MOC reviews and commissioning plans are developed/performed in accordance with agreed project schedules.
  • Manage engineering resources to ensure timeliness and quality of technical responses to Engineering Queries and preparation of Technical Instructions required by maintenance.
  • Validate the necessity and cost effectiveness of all Project OPEX and CAPEX investment works.
  • Perform the engineering review of all Project OPEX and CAPEX investment papers.
  • Ensure rolling 5-year integrity (inspection/repair) and upgrade requirements are maintained for all NWE assets to feed into Commercial and Military 5-year CAPEX and OPEX plans.

Experience required

  • Degree levele educate. Chartered status
  • Experience of managing multi disciplined engineering teams in Oil & Gas, fuels, refinery sector
  • Experience/Knoweldge of API and EEMUA codes
  • Experience in a COMAH regulated environment
