We are seeking an Engineering Lecturer to join our team and deliver high-quality education to learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities. This role is ideal for industry experts or qualified teachers with a passion for engineering and education.

Engineering Lecturer

  • Salary: £25-£40ph
  • Location: South West London
  • Job Type: Full-time, Temporary term

Day-to-day of the role of a Engineering Lecturer :

  • Deliver engaging and informative lectures in various engineering subjects to students at different levels.
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials, and assess student work to ensure educational standards are met.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Utilise a range of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the engineering field to provide relevant and current instruction.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the curriculum.

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Engineering Lecturer position:

  • A teaching qualification such as AET, PTLLS, PGCE, or Certificate in Education.
  • A Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an engineering subject area.
  • Experience managing challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Previous experience working with 16-19-year-olds in an educational or apprenticeship setting.
  • Workshop experience including Welding and Fabrication levels 2 and 3.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Reed Compliance.
