Job Title: Engagement Officer
Location: Hasland, Derbyshire
Payrate: £21,999 - £24,175 per annum

Start Date: Immediately

GSL Education are looking for an exceptional Engagement Officer to work at a client school in Hasland. The successful candidate will work closely with learners, the wider school team, and employers to provide work placements for a wide variety of young people.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop links with employers that result in work placement opportunities for learners
  • Match opportunities in the workplace to the specific goals and needs of learners
  • Monitor, assess, and coach learners before, during, and after placement to ensure they have the appropriate skills to gain the most out of their placement
  • Develop employability skills, including CV writing, job applications, and interview techniques
  • Build positive relationships with young people, external agencies (including employers), and colleagues
  • Establish and maintain paper or electronic information systems
  • Work under pressure, to deadlines, and under own initiative
  • Drive (full driving license) and use a car


Requirements:

  • Good general education, including English and Math's GCSE grades A-C or equivalent
  • Successful track record of developing links with employers that result in work placement opportunities for learners
  • They must ensure organizational behaviour is maintained in the school premises and corridors
  • Must have a driving license, business insurance, and be committed for long term.
  • Candidate must be in good mental and physical health and also must be a resilient and reliable individual.
  • Must be able to work with vulnerable and challenging pupils in a school environment.
  • Experience in developing/contributing to learning programs for young people (preferably this would include the design and delivery of employability programs)
  • Experience in conducting assessments with learners (including literacy and numeracy)
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm for and commitment to working with and supporting young people
