A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employment Solicitor who is looking to take that step up and lead an Employment team and genuinely work towards Partnership.

Due to growth, a long-established, Essex-based firm is looking for an Employment Solicitor to head up the department based in its Chelmsford office, in this key placement. The role is a succession planning opportunity so the director of the firm can step back from billing activity and focus on strategic management matters.

The firm has an ambitious strategy and a strong management team to give the right support required to climb the career ladder.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years’ PQE, you must be accustomed to handling your employment law caseload under no supervision. Ideally, you should have experience in managing and supporting more junior staff as the position is intended to go to head of department in the future.

There is plenty of support for fee earners and this role will include some supervision of the existing team, currently 3 solicitors and support staff.

Your role will involve:

• Take over a varied and high-quality caseload of employment law matters
• Hand both high net worth (HNW) claimant and corporate respondent cases
• Lead and manage a dedicated team of solicitors and support staff
• Cultivate strong client relationships and maintain a reputation for outstanding service
• Contribute to the wider business objectives in line with the business strategy, vision and values
