Pay Rates:

£18.00-£21.50 PAYE per hour

£20.00-£24.00 paye inclusive of holiday pay per hour

£23.00-£27.00 umbrella per hour

All of the rates are depending on skill and experience

Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm, 37.5 hours per week

Hybrid working with a minimum of 2 to 3 days on site based (specific days haven’t been confirmed at this stage) on service needs, therefore, the candidate must live in commuting location of the client’s site in Romford

Job summary and Duties

The Employee Relations Partner will be expected to proactively manage a full Employee Relations caseload in a timely and proactive way.

This must be done in line with the principles of Just Culture, current HR best practice, Trust policies and procedures and any national/statutory guidelines. The Trust uses a business partnering model and the post holder will support a dedicated area of the Trust. In particular, the postholder will be required to:

  • Provide specialist advice, guidance and counsel to managers, supervisors and HR colleagues on all employee relations issues, policy interpretation and questions. To include such issues as conduct, capability (performance and sickness), reorganisation, termination of employment, employee complaints and compliance issues.
  • Responding to employee issues and questions, providing feedback to managers to ensure appropriate action is taken where necessary.
  • Where appropriate, engage with appropriate internal or external consultants and advisors, to gain specific legal or best practice advice on specific cases, to ensure best advice is provided.
  • Provide HR representation for managers and employees in any formal processes (disciplinary, performance, sickness absence etc), ensuring decisions are consistent with best practice, legislation, Trust culture and policy.
  • Report back any potential learning to the Commissioning Manager and Head of ER for dissemination following the conclusion of the investigation
  • Provide guidance and support to the Junior ER Partner in the undertaking of their duties.
  • Take the lead on the updating of assigned HR policies to ensure compliance with best practice and any national guidelines as well as statutory changes.
  • Work in collaboration with other HR colleagues, managers and employees, provide relevant ER expertise in the execution of any initiatives or projects to which the post holder is assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • HRM degree or related business studies degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in an operational HR role at least some of which will have been in the NHS
  • Specialist knowledge of employee relations to standard for providing advice in employee relations cases
  • Generalist HR experience to specialist level including application and interpretation of national and local terms and conditions
  • Understanding of the principles and application of formal employment policy and procedure
  • Knowledge of Employee Relations policies and Processes
