We are looking for exceptional candidates to join the dedicated team at Hampshire Constabulary as an Emergency Call Handler in Southampton. This vital role is the first point of contact for the public, managing incidents and deploying police resources. The position offers a competitive starting package, inclusive of shift allowances for unsociable hours, and comprehensive training and support.

ALL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE RESIDED IN THE UK CONTINOUSLY FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Serve as the front line of the police, taking both emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
  • Manage incidents effectively within the control room environment.
  • Deploy police resources to incidents as required.
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanour in high-pressure situations.
  • Utilise strong IT skills to navigate and input data into various systems simultaneously.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Resilience, focus, and empathy.
  • Strong IT proficiency and the ability to quickly learn and use new systems.
  • Capable of prioritising cases and multitasking between calls and file management.
  • Previous experience in a customer service environment is advantageous.
