EMEA Financial Controller - Global Hedge Fund

  • Manage legal entity accounting for multiple EMEA domiciled management companies in the firm’s global structure including transfer pricing revenue, local GAAP to US GAAP adjustments and corporate taxes
  • Apply the firm’s accounting policy to legal entity reporting, asset amortization, leases, and other complex accounting concepts across multiple jurisdictions
  • Assist in organization and support of multiple external audits
  • Assist the tax department on global monthly and quarterly tax filings
  • Coordinate with US Management Company Controllers for booking and understanding US GAAP to local GAAP accounting differences
  • Coordinate capital calls and dividend distributions with various stakeholders and prepare relevant accounting entries.
  • Coordinate, prepare and present reporting for internal stakeholders including senior management
  • Liaise with global team on monthly cash requirements for EMEA entities
  • Manage production of legal entity financial statements with local service providers
  • Monitor bank transactions and act as approver on transactions as required by firm’s policy
  • Monitor compliance and regulatory requirements for EMEA entities and prepare regulatory filings or coordinate preparation of filings with local service providers
  • Supervise and mentor junior accountant in London and work seamlessly with the global finance team to complete month end closes in accordance with deadlines and reporting standards
  • 8 + years of accounting experience with a mixture of private/public experience
  • Degree in Business (Accounting, Finance preferred)
  • Professional qualification, Chartered Certified Accountant or equivalent.
  • Technical knowledge of accounting frameworks (i.e., FRS 102, IFRS, US GAAP, etc.)
  • Previous hedge fund experience preferred (pass-through or multi-manager a plus)
  • Experience working for a global firm (preferred)
  • Experience with Workday Financials (preferred)
  • Experience in multi-currency consolidation, FX revaluation and translation, and transfer pricing a plus
  • Demonstrate a proven track record of process improvements and working with technology and/or other stakeholders to deliver automated solutions (such as improvements to the general ledger and supporting systems)
  • Ability to work autonomously and effectively communicate to manager in New York
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple offices, stakeholders, and audiences
  • Proactive and highly process and detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with management
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
