La Fosse is working a Hyper Rapid DC charging company for a range of commercial vehicle sectors. The company holds several international patents, is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its lead role under the UK Govt eFreight programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy across multiple sites the UK first eHGV charging network.

About the Role: This role is to lead on the software design and development of DC charging systems, with a capacity to charge simultaneously multiple vehicles with up to 1MW of power. This role will lead not only on product design, its testing and compliance to UK & International stds, but will also manage a team of Software engineers. You will be pivotal in software design, , and control systems engineering. This role will work alongside a Senior Power Systems Design Engineer in the creation of the charging system.

location: Birmingham (1/2 days in the office)

Responsibilities include:

Designing the software system architecture, validating its design, development and execution of test plans through to product type approval.

  • Proficient in C/C++ programming
  • Control system experience
  • HiL/SiL testing experince
  • Expereince in intergrating black box control units
