ELECTRONICS PROCESS ENGINEER/ STEVENAGE / £43,000 PER ANNUM + BENEFITS

This ElectronicsProcess Engineer position is a standalone role for someone who is highly analytical and experienced in identifying processes to improve and who has the aptitude to work confidently with other teams and Stakeholders to push projects through to completion.

Key Responsibilities of the ElectronicsProcess Engineer:

  • Plan, compile and execute validation strategies (including documentation, reports, etc.) to confirm suitability for use, and 'fit and function’ of process outputs.
  • Support Development SOP’s Wi’s and Procedures as required.
  • Continually review all manufacturing processes to document, measure, refine & improve effectiveness.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement programs to deliver costs savings and quality improvements in line with overall manufacturing objectives.
  • Liaise with all relevant departments on the transfer of new products into manufacturing and ensure that suitable manufacturing processes are in place.
  • Recommend and coordinate process improvement activities with the Operations groups.
  • Liaise with engineering and customers to offer design changes that would improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure that appropriate test and validation is performed on materials and processes employed in the manufacture of products.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities in materials and processes; plan and perform testing to validate changes that capitalise on these opportunities; document and release these changes.
  • Support & execute capital investment programs for manufacturing equipment as and when required.
  • Participate in quality manufacturing audits & ensure action is taken in response to audit findings.
  • Support the development & maintenance of a quality system structure in line with EN 9100:2018 (AS9100) Rev D Accreditation to ensure manufacturing compliance to applicable regulatory laws & requirements.
  • Support provisions of quality data/reports/charts for the manufacturing group.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum HND or equivalent in a relevant engineering qualification
  • Strong computer skills using Word, Excel, and database/analysis packages.
  • Electronics manufacturing industry knowledge
  • Experience in the use of manufacturing ERP systems, similar complexity to Epicor 10.
  • Use of CAD FOR design and manufacture (subcontract) of jigs and tooling.
  • Proven record in providing process engineering support in a world class CEM environment.
  • Solid manufacturing electronic engineering experience
  • Experience of implementing lean manufacturing and Continuous improvement techniques/principles.
  • Proven project management experience, demonstrable experience of working with EN 9100:2018 (AS9100) and experience of automated processes, vision inspection, or similar desirable.
  • Strategic thinker with proven creative solutions, and who is an advanced problem-solver.
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop process solutions and improvements.
  • A collaborator with great communication skills & the ability to work on own initiative in a standalone role.
