Role: Electronic and Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Hours: 
40 - 45 per week
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum

Are you a multi skilled engineer with a strong background in everything Electronic and Electrical? Are you experienced in Maintenance Engineering? If so, we invite you to join our prestigious client, a manufacturing business located in Mildenhall.

Job Overview: The Maintenance Department plays a crucial role in supporting all facets of production and facility requirements. As this business expands, this role offers dynamic opportunities for growth within the organisation.

Role & Responsibilities: As a member of the Maintenance Team, you'll operate within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, collaborating across various production departments, some of which operate round the clock. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing maintenance support across all departments, under the guidance of the Department Head.
  • Assisting production to ensure uninterrupted output.
  • Promptly addressing machinery failures and breakdowns, including fault finding and repair of electronic and electrical systems.
  • Conducting planned maintenance tasks to optimise production availability.
  • Programming PLCs and upgrading control panels for automated systems.
  • Diagnosing faults and repairing equipment.
  • Utilising maintenance software for task management and updates.
  • Supporting Service Engineers/Contractors as needed.
  • Contributing ideas for continuous improvement within the Maintenance Department.
  • Enhancing control systems and installing new equipment.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and introducing updates for efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with insurance, regulations, and safety audits across all departments.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing solutions.
Qualifications & Experience: The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Experience in supporting a fast-paced production environment.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in a production support role.
  • Strong electronic and electrical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose machine faults.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical control systems, instrumentation, PLC programs, and systems.
  • Discipline, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with personnel at all levels.
