Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship

in partnership with GET, and based at the Tewkesbury Production Site

Cotteswold Dairy are once again working in partnership with Gloucestershire Engineering Training to offer an Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship that will equip candidates to obtain a nationally recognised Level 3 Maintenance & Operations Engineering Technician Qualification. After a successful cohort in 2023, we are looking to appoint two new apprentices to join our team for September 2024.

Maintenance Apprenticeship Training

Cotteswold Dairy offer a full training scheme, with on-the-job training, an expereinced buddy, dedicated in-house academic and practical support, and over eighty-five years of quality experience in the Dairy Industry.

You will receive formal coaching at the GET training centre in Barnwood, Gloucester; alongside work placement at Cotteswold Dairy’s production plant in Tewkesbury. You will be supported by a team of specialists from GET and our Engineering Team to ensure you are able to achieve the requirements of your programme to the best of your abilities. There is a mixture of online multiple choice examinations and internal assessments which consist of a mix of practical and written papers. The assessments vary between units and are either at the end of each taught topic area or at the end of the unit. Our dedicated Learning & Development Coordinator, based at Tewkesbury, will be available throughout your studies to support you.

Year 1 will be predominently spent studying at GET during term time - while during holidays you will learn from our skilled engineers on site at Cotteswold Dairy - applying your skills with real-world experience across our production

site, distribution hub and in our workshop.

Years 2 to 4 will be based at the Tewkesbury depot within the production facility working on real projects and products alongside the engineering team. Study will continue at GET on a part-time basis.

What you will learn:

  • How to repair and maintain our plant equipment
  • Instruction on an array of different machinery (mill, drill, lathe & grinder)
  • The use of computer numerically controlled machinary (CNC)
Requirements
  • Four GCSEs level 4 or above to include Maths, English and Physics
