Positions: 2 (commercial & domestic)

Salary: 65-75k

Our client is looking for an electrical team leader and an electrician to complete solar installs on both residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

Solar PV Installation: Install solar PV systems on residential, commercial, and industrial properties, including rooftop and ground-mounted arrays. Ensure all electrical connections and components are installed correctly and securely.

Electrical Wiring: Perform electrical wiring tasks for solar PV systems, including connecting inverters, charge controllers, batteries, and other system components according to manufacturer specifications and electrical codes.

System Testing and Commissioning: Conduct comprehensive testing and commissioning of solar PV systems to ensure proper functionality and safety. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the testing process.

Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance tasks on existing solar PV installations, including cleaning panels, inspecting wiring and connections, and replacing faulty components as needed. Respond promptly to repair requests and emergencies.

Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all solar PV installations comply with relevant regulations, including the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, as well as local building codes and safety standards. Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients to explain the installation process, provide maintenance recommendations, and address any concerns or questions they may have regarding their solar PV systems.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with other members of the installation team, including project managers, electricians, and laborers, to coordinate job tasks, ensure project timelines are met, and deliver exceptional service to our clients.

Requirements:

Electrical Qualifications: Hold relevant electrical qualifications, including a valid electrical license or certification. Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams.

Solar PV Experience: Demonstrated experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing solar PV systems. Familiarity with a variety of system types, including grid-tied, off-grid, and hybrid configurations.

18th Edition Wiring Regulations: In-depth knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and experience applying them to electrical installations. Ability to ensure compliance with relevant standards and codes.

Safety Consciousness: Strong commitment to safety practices and protocols. Experience working safely at heights and in various weather conditions.

Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve electrical issues efficiently. Attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.

Team Player: Collaborative attitude with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to share knowledge and support the development of less experienced team members.

Physical Fitness: Good physical condition with the ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous Solar Electrician Experience: Prior experience specifically in the solar energy industry, including installation, maintenance, and repair of solar PV systems.

Additional Electrical Certifications: Any additional electrical certifications or training relevant to the solar industry, such as NABCEP certification, would be advantageous.

Driving License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
