Our client is looking for an Electrical Test Engineer. This would suit someone who is computer savvy and enjoys working in a hands-on environment. You should have in-depth experience using testing equipment as well as reading blueprints and schematics.

As a Test Engineer, you will provide electrical service supporting all departments in the UK. Primarily providing day-to-day solution for electrical testing of our client's machines. This role will not involve regular travel to customer sites.

Main Duties:

  • To test and supervise the electrical testing of all equipment and machinery.
  • Use computer aided software to modify electrical drawings and machine software.
  • Continually develop and improve test certificates and test procedures.
  • Developing ways to improve the efficiency of testing.
  • Monitoring status of the testing schedule in line with production.
  • Be familiar and up to date with all projects.
  • Making sure that the latest full package of documentation (electrical drawings, datasheets) is sent to the customer inside electrical panel & available in the project contract folder.
  • Ensure all tests are recorded and corresponding test certificates filled in.
  • Making sure testing complies with safety regulations.
  • The role will also involve attending meetings, giving in-house and external training, writing reports, and giving presentations to managers, clients, and service engineers.
  • Required to travel both UK & overseas to customers site's where current workload permits to assist commissioning or breakdowns as electrical support.

This list of duties is not exhaustive, the postholder may be asked to carry out other duties as a result of discussions with their line manager. The post holder will do all tasks within his/her level of skill and ability.

Hours: Monday to Friday 08.30 to 16.45 (45 minutes lunch).

The role is full-time based on a 37-hour week. However, there may be the requirement to work outside of these normal hours.
