Long term contract role (estimated 2/3 years).
No previous rail experience required.
All electrical experience considered.
Successful candidates will begin working days and then after 8 weeks will move to days and nights so must be flexible to commit to this shift pattern.

Job Title: Trainee Electrical Fitter (Rolling Stock)
Job Location: Ilford, London
Shifts: 06:00 - 17:20, 4 on 4 off (Flexibility to work nights when required with enhancement)
Hourly Rate: Days - £17.80 PAYE / £22.55 Umbrella
Nights - £23.67 PAYE / £30.20 Umbrella
Saturday - £26.70. PAYE /£34.15 Umbrella (All hours)
Sunday - £35.60 PAYE / £45.75 (All hours)
Hours Per Week: 44 hours per week
Duration: Ongoing
Start Date: ASAP

Person Profile:
You will be a highly self-motivated, reliable and determined individual as training will be provided to develop your skills. Attitude and enthusiasm are key for this role you should be able to follow detailed instructions as an eye for details is key to this role. You will need good dexterity as the training and role will include handing Electrical wiring. Following on from a 1 week paid competency based training course on Depot, you will be able to work under your own initiative. Candidates with the following experience will be considered:
* Previous experience of following detailed instructions, preferable Electrical Schematics
* Previous experience of electrical wiring or engineering assembly which demonstrates dexterity skills
* Basic understanding of Electrical Principles
* Awareness of Health and Safety

Position Summary:
The role is carrying out Electrical overhaul including stripping and refitting. You will be specifically focused on modifications, interior strip and replace on modern Aventra Stock within a heavy maintenance depot. This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet. This is a safety Critical position working on a busy live rail maintenance depot and in this role you would be expected to complete the following:
* Work from written instruction (VMI)
* Work from Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements
* Remove large components such as axle boxes, bogies, valves and couplers
* Replacing components to correspond to engineering drawings
