Electrical Design Engineer

Our leading client in their field are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer, this is an office based role in Gamlingay.

Responsibilities:

• Generating electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams using Eplan Pro Panel.
• Compiling specifications and sourcing all products including components, consumables and other hardware
• Working with internal departments to answer any technical queries 
• Ensuring Project budgets are adhered to 
• PLC/HMI selection in conjunction with the Software department
• Working to a customer provided specification when needed
• Ensure product safety and compliance to relevant codes and standards are implemented and maintained
• Ensure the integrity of the design through technical design calculations and provide reports when required.
• Research obsolete component replacement for existing machines
• Specify correct parameters for components where required
• Work with single and three phase AC systems and low voltage DC systems
• May require occasional travel to remote client or supply chain sites.

Skills and experience needed 

• Proven practical electrical wiring experience
• Mechanical experience/background (Beneficial)
• Previous electrical CAD experience specifically with Eplan Pro Panel (Eplan not essential).
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings and interpret data in written/numerical form on electrical systems.
• Is Qualified to HNC/HND standard or above preferably in an electrical engineering related subject.(Beneficial)
• Works well as an individual and effectively within a group.
