Electrical Control Systems Engineer (Manufacturing)

£60,000 - £65,000 NEG + Monday - Friday + Half Day Friday + Training + Progression

Are you an electrical controls engineer, with experience in design and development, ready to take on a pivotal role, in a multifunctional position, where you will work alongside a range of highly skilled engineers and designers, and have a vital role to play throughout the project lifecycle, working with multimillion UK market leading company, who invest in their employees and will put you through software training programmes, as well as providing the potential for progression?

Do you have experience with electrical hardware components and control panel design principles, ready to work in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, where you will deliver engineering solutions as you explore new automated processes across various industries?

This company is a leading designer and manufacturer of turnkey, bespoke processing systems, prominently food processing equipment. They pride themselves on quality, research and development, working closely with clients to deliver groundbreaking equipment such as the smaller-scale popcorn kettle with an output of 35ky per hour. They also design and build bespoke control systems, looking to provide innovative solutions to their client.

On offer is the opportunity to join a progressive company, where you will be in a senior role, adding direct value to a highly skilled team. You will work throughout the project lifecycle, from concept to production, designing, developing and implementing electrical systems. You will also troubleshoot and debug control systems, and write up supporting documentation. You will also develop and produce PLC / HMI software as well as getting hands-on and assembling electrical and pneumatic components on a variety of mechanical and electrical systems.

The Role:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems
  • You will develop and implement PLC and HMI software for various automation projects using industry-standard programming languages.
  • Design and create electrical hardware parts lists and control panels which are compatible with the chosen PLC platform you have designed
  • Assemble schematics and assembly instructions.
  • Verifying and testing dimensions and product specifications
  • Apply quality control standards and work to assembly safety standards.
  • Be on-site for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation systems.
  • Work two weekends a month.

The Person:

  • Electrical Control Systems Engineer or similar
  • Qualification in electrical engineering
  • Experience in PLC and HMI programming
