Education Welfare Officer - Safeguarding & Attendance Team

A well rated Education service in South Wales is in search of a Education Welfare Officer for a Safeguarding & Attendance team paying a competitive hourly rate on an initial 3 month rolling contract.

You will be working directly with young people who have been at risk of harm and not attending school. You be investigating and assessing problems of young people and planning appropriate action to enable them attend school.

Your responsibilities would be:

  • Encouraging and facilitating contact between home and school.
  • Issuing warnings and instigate legal proceedings when necessary.
  • Attending child protection case conferences and core groups when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Car and Full Drivers License (may consider non car driver)
  • 12 Months Experience
