Early Years SEN Specialist

Location: Leeds

Are you a dedicated and compassionate Early Years SEN Specialist with a passion for supporting children with autism? We are seeking an experienced professional to join our school nursery team, working one-to-one with a child with autism to provide tailored support and interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to a child with autism, fostering their social, emotional, and educational development.
  • Carry out targeted interventions to support the child's individual needs.
  • Assist the child in navigating the classroom environment, ensuring they feel safe and supported.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt and modify activities to meet the child's needs.
  • Facilitate indoor and outdoor learning opportunities for the child.
  • Work closely with parents and other professionals to provide holistic support.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience working with children with autism in an early years setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for supporting children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, parents, and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to promoting the child's well-being and development.
