Job Advert: Early Years Leader
Are you passionate about early childhood education? Do you have the skills and experience to lead a dynamic team in a primary school setting? We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Years Leader to join our school community.

As the Early Years Leader, you will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences of our youngest learners.

Responsibilities:
Teaching and Curriculum Development:

  • Teach a class of children, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a cohesive learning environment.
  • Monitor the progress of pupils and report evaluated data to the headteacher.
  • Ensure the requirements for the Early Years phase, including the arrangements of assessment, are met.


Leadership and Management:

  • Develop a collaborative and co-operative approach as a reception team.
  • Be aware of the pastoral and well-being needs of staff, pupils, and parents within the team and advise senior leaders of any concerns.
  • Induct, support, and monitor new staff within EYFS.
  • Regularly meet with staff within the EYFS, ensuring they are aware of expectations or changes in school policy and practice.
  • Build relationships with local nurseries, ensuring a smooth transition into school.


Quality Assurance and Improvement:

  • Be an exemplary classroom practitioner and use this practice to develop and support staff where necessary.
  • Monitor and support the improvement of teaching in EYFS by challenging aspects of practice that need development or do not meet school policy.
  • Coordinate or lead support and development opportunities for staff.
  • Be responsible and accountable for pupil outcomes within EYFS, ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Ensure the needs of all pupils within EYFS are met, including those with special needs, statements, or disadvantaged pupils.


Professional Development and Safeguarding:

  • Take an active role in your own professional development.
  • Uphold the school's robust safeguarding policy and processes.
  • Contribute to the strategic development and direction of the school as a member of the School Leadership Team.


Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for child development and creating enriching experiences for children.
  • QTS or PGCE qualification
