Job Responsibilities

Training

  • Deliver high-quality engaging online training sessions to learners on early years, teaching assistant and playworker apprenticeships, from level 2-5
  • Prepare for sessions to ensure training is individualised and meets the needs of each learner attending
  • Utilise online tools effectively to enhance the learning experience for apprentices
  • Provide a positive and supportive learning environment for learners
  • Promote positive behaviour and ensure the code of conduct is followed by learners during sessions, including use of cameras, active listening, engagement and respecting others
  • Identify learner starting points and tailor sessions to learner needs, providing additional stretch and challenge where required
  • Provide a collaborative learning environment by encouraging active participation and discussion.
  • Support the wider learning of apprentices through embedding of English, maths, safeguarding, prevent and British values into sessions
  • Provide learners with the webinar feedback survey at the end of all sessions and encourage honest and constructive feedback
  • Deliver career information, advice, guidance and welfare sessions to learners as part of the BPN Boost programme
  • Deliver engaging first day of learning sessions, ensuring learners are given the correct information and guidance from the start of their apprenticeship

Co-ordination and Support

  • Provide robust feedback to apprenticeship tutors following webinar sessions to support learning to be followed up and extended
  • Work closely with the curriculum manager to ensure teaching resources are kept up to date and to support with development of resources, e.g. pre-recorded webinars
  • Maintain regular communication with the apprenticeship administrator to ensure any challenges are dealt with quickly
  • Attend CPD and Standardisation events as appropriate (remotely and at the office as required)

Administration

  • Maintain records of attendance for each webinar, working closely with the apprenticeship administrator to support attendance monitoring
  • Manage own diary effectively, communicatingwith the curriculum manager and apprenticeship administrator to ensure all planned sessions go ahead
  • Ensure Outlook calendar is up to date at all times

Other

  • Any other duties connected with the post as are reasonably required from time to time
  • Attend Best Practice Network’s conferences and events as required (Bristol or Road show)

Essential Criteria

  • Hold a qualification in early years
  • Have experience in a management role in anearly years setting
  • Experience of working in Further Education or a similar environment
  • Have up to date industry knowledge
  • Hold Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy qualifications
  • Can motivate and inspire learners
  • Have experience in delivering engaging teaching and learning sessions
  • Have strong IT skills and be able to use online teaching tools effectively
  • Have high levels of motivation and the ability to use own initiative

Desirable Criteria

  • Hold an assessor qualification
  • Hold a teaching qualification
  • Hold a degree or higher level qualification in early years
