Purpose of the role

You will join our National People Development team, focusing on supporting the administration and coordination of professional training programs within Early Careers. Your role ensures consistent application of firmwide policies and processes, guiding trainees, managers, and partners through the trainee lifecycle.

The Firm has approximately 1,435 employees and 94 Partners, with approximately 533 of those employees engaged in an apprenticeship/formal training programme. Therefore, the role and client base are varied and fast paced.

This role requires someone who can work to multiple deadlines, manage their workload efficiently and to be fully committed to the role within Early Careers. Experience with professional qualifications and apprenticeships is desirable and the role requires excellent attention to detail and professional communication, both orally and written.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as the primary contact for trainee enquiries for the Midlands based offices however, there will be a requirement to occasionally support the team with other national queries.
  • Provide administrative support throughout the training lifecycle, from onboarding to professional studies.
  • Ensure all relevant training records are maintained accurately and in a timely manner and ensuring changes are effectively communicated to trainees, their managers and third-party training providers.
  • Ensure the national training policy is followed to ensure a consistent approach.
  • Attend regular meetings with regional managers to stay informed and contribute to trainee information and planning.
  • Support with 12 weekly review meetings with apprentices, their talent coach and potentially line manager.
  • Address business queries related to the apprenticeship in line with policies and guidance documentation.
  • Continue with personal professional development, especially regarding knowledge of accountancy and taxation qualifications, the apprenticeship scheme and your own progression.
  • Prioritise timely handling of emails and booking requests.
  • Generate simple reports and handle training-related data.
  • Travel to the regional offices as required.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience of working within professional services and an understanding of Accountancy/Tax training pathways is preferred.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship programs and standards desirable.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Driven and focused approach on delivering the best results showing determination, resourcefulness with a sense of purpose.
  • Ethical approach to managing data. Understanding that you will be handling sensitive people related information, therefore always exercising discretion and confidentiality.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
