EAL Tutor - Southport

Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an experienced Tutor or teacher to provide 1:1 support to a Year 11 EAL student.

The successful candidate should be able to offer up to 10 hours of support per week, over split sessions.

The student is a newly arrived young person and an English language beginner. Support is being put in place to assist with their transition into school.

Working as a Tutor through Prospero, you will be a vital part of student development and so the ideal candidate will have a patient and empathetic attitude.

Position details:

  • Location - Southport
  • Position - EAL Tutor
  • Year 11 - English and Maths
  • Duration - Ongoing
  • Hours - Up to 10 hours p/w in split sessions, ideally between 8:30am-3:30pm

Experience, Training and Qualification:

  • QTS / QTLS / PGCE / EYTS or equivalent
  • 2 years experience working in a UK school
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent Awareness training is desirable but not essential

To be eligible for this role through Prospero Teaching, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references
