Seven Social Care is looking for a Duty Officer to work with Conwy Council within the Looked After Children Service.

In the absence of the designated team member to act as a point of contact and respond to service users and other professionals accessing / liaising with the Looked After Service
e.g. general advice to service users, foster carers and perspective foster carers. 

To assist and support social workers in providing a child focused service to looked after children, including children living with others (e.g. SGO, Residence Orders).

Responsibilities:
 

  • Respond to incoming telephone calls from service users and professionals. Providing initial advice and guidance or referring matters on to relevant staff member.
  • In the absence of the Recruitment Officer, respond to incoming telephone calls from perspective foster carers  e.g. providing immediate information regarding the Fostering Service, expectations of a foster carer, the assessment process and the needs of children looked after.
  • Support the Finance Team in the timely collation of supporting documentation required to complete financial assessments being undertaken in respect of family carers.
     

Applicant Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years working within the same role/similar
