JOB AD:

The Optical Communication Technology Lab at Paris Research Center is working on long distance (>1000km) and high capacity WDM systems. We are looking for a DSP expert in coherent optical DSP having also competencies in WDM systems.

The research will aim at innovation in the design and implementation of DSP algorithms for optical communications. The work will be carried out in collaboration with academic partners as well as teams spanning across multiple international Research Centers.

Main Responsibilities:

Conduct theory exploration, come up with innovative DSP algorithms and implementations for coherent optical communications;

Propose and implement joint WDM and DSP optimization;

Collaborate with and guide researchers performing offline validation on experimental data;

Collaboration with other teams in the optical lab to leverage synergies;

Deliver DSP algorithms to product line, and support the teams that will be in charge of ASIC implementation;

Generation of intellectual property and patent filing;

Create and maintain strong collaborative associations with university-based researchers;

Publish in top journals and conferences on DSP and WDM system.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. degree in coherent optical DSP and at least 7 years industrial experience;

Familiarity with Python and other programming and simulation tools (Python used in the team);

Ability to conduct independent research while also contributing to team-oriented projects;

Strong track record of publications in leading journals (JLT, PTL, Opt. Express.) and conferences (OFC, ECOC), and/or patents.
