Drugs and Alcohol Worker Vacancy – Temporary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a highly established charity for an Alcohol Worker to join their service in Great Yarmouth. This is a full-time temporary position and they are looking to get someone started as soon as possible.

Location: Great Yarmouth

Hours: 37.5 per week

Shifts: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday

Length of Contract: 3 – 4 months

Daily duties:

  • Manage a caseload clients with Substance Misuse, Drugs and Alcohol dependencies
  • Carrying out client assessments and co-ordinate a person-centred recovery plan to promote effective recovery including referrals to other community agencies
  • Provide support and advice to service users, their families and potential service users about harm reduction
  • Identify achievable goals and incorporate those within recovery plans, ensuring that clients are able to work through their plans successfully
  • Carry out risk assessments and reviews with special attention to safeguarding concerns
  • Facilitate client contact and communicate via telephone, online and face-to-face to encourage and ensure safe engagement in treatment

Essential Requirements:

  • Knowledge of clients who have drug and alcohol issues and how to promote effective recovery
  • An Enhanced DBS from within the last 3 years or the willingness to obtain one
