Distribution Centre Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward thinking person to join a large team of Assistants within our Distribution Centre incorporating porterage, goods inwards, stores and mail services.
Role: Temporary Distribution Assistant
Pay: £14.36
Duration: 22nd April - 26th April currently.
Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager via the Supervisor and Team Leaders, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm who will take up the challenge and support our first class comprehensive service delivery to our customers.
The work of the role will involve working with the team on campus delivering services including daily delivery and collection of mail, a counter service for parcel collections for students and staff.
Removal of day to day waste materials for recycling and confidential waste from pre-determined collection points to compactors and skips.
Departmental moves and decants. Ad hoc office furniture moves identifying good quality furniture which can be stored and re-distributed.
Set up and De rig support for key campus events including Graduation, Examinations, Teaching, Conferencing, Registration etc to include laying carpet/boards, setting up marquees. Including events off campus.
Caretaking requirements across campus
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, willing to be flexible to support requirements and able to be pro-active providing flexibility to meet customer needs.
