RM Recruit are partnering with a fantastic SME charity in Warwickshire to recruit a Director of Finance their team. This leadership role is a key post in the Executive Management Team and reports directly to the CEO. The postholder will have responsibilities alongside finance to include; IT, HR, and Governance.

This is hands-on, rewarding and wide ranging role will see you work with a charitable organisation that is self-generating in relation to income and has operations not only in the UK but across the globe.

Key Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Effective management of all the financial affairs of the organisation including financial strategy, investment portfolio, cash flow, financial accounting, management accounting, statutory reporting, external and internal audit.
  • Maximising the organisation’s investment in property and facilities, ensuring the provision of a working environment aligned with operational needs.
  • Ensuring that strong governance and business controls are developed and deployed in line with agreed risk parameters and legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Leads the overall information governance for the organisation identification and management of risks
  • Long term financial modelling of the portfolio of activities, conducting investment appraisals for new areas of activity as required.
  • Ensuring the organisation is equipped to make good decisions through robust, timely business intelligence.
  • Supporting the Chief Executive and Executive Management Team with new business development and change management initiatives
  • Ensuring all directorate plans, investment cases and forecasts are underpinned by qualified assumptions and financial modelling
  • Leading the Finance and Systems, Information teams to ensure that systems and processes are efficient, effective, and facilitate operational delivery across all functions
  • Acting as Company Secretary
  • Contributing to the overall development and delivery of the charity’s organisational strategy, change projects and major new developments as needed
  • Motivates & leads an ambitious and effective finance and SID team to deliver compliant, reliable, resilient and cost-effective activities to meet organisation’s needs.
  • Ensures the right capacity, processes, facilities, technologies, and tools are in place within the charity to support the overall organisation while driving efficiency
  • Develop and deliver cases for investment and cost improvement plans as required.
  • Effective cross-function working in order to build and strengthen relationships with other directorates to promote business partnering into the organisation.

It is essential that all applicants hold fully qualified accountant status and are confidence with using technology to drive productivity. Experience of streamlining finance systems and MI reporting is highly desirable and previous charity sector experience would be ideal.

Whatever your sector background, you will have finance experience at a senior level with keen operational leadership skills in non-finance areas. Our client has a hybrid working model in place.
