Role Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the English department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students in KS3 and KS4.
  • Develop and implement engaging and creative teaching strategies to inspire and motivate students.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, setting ambitious targets to enhance academic achievements.
  • Lead, support, and mentor a team of talented English teachers, promoting continuous professional development and growth.
  • Introduce new initiatives and ideas to enhance the department's curriculum and teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to whole-school improvement plans.
  • Maintain and strengthen the department's excellent track record of results and student outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in managing a successful English department.
  • Strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 English curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and support both students and staff in achieving their best.
  • Creative and forward-thinking approach to education.
  • Dedication to maintaining the school's outstanding status and striving for continuous improvement.
