Role: Digital Machine Operator

Location: Edenbridge

Hours: 9am - 4:30pm initially followed by double days once trained.

Salary: £24k - £27k (DOE)

About the business:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within one of my clients Digital Printing Department. This is an opportunity to work for an established, independent group of companies in Kent, specialising within Digitally Printed Food Packaging.

Purpose of a Digital Machine Operator:

The successful candidate will work alongside their current Production Team, Die Cutting, Guillotine, Gluing & Stripping Pallets.

Essential Requirements for a Digital Machine Operator:

  • Enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude.
  • Eager to learn.
  • Communication skills
  • Works well within a team and alone
  • Ability to work efficiently to deadlines and manage time accordingly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think quickly and react.
  • High attention to detail is crucial, with good organisation skills.
  • Can use a PC confidently.
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, preferably within packaging. Although training will be provided.

Main Role & Responsibilities for a Digital Machine Operator:

  • Pre-cutting stock to size using guillotine if required.
  • Die cutting
  • Stripping pallets of WIP once they are cut and creased
  • Feeding and packing on the gluing line
  • Cutting samples when needed using the automated CAD table for customer samples and mock-ups.
  • Pallet wrapping and strapping of pallets being despatched.
  • Quality checking of product in QA
  • Maintain general tidiness in production area, wash room and mezzanine.
  • Carrying out daily, weekly & monthly maintenance checks on the machines as required.
  • Communicate with the office when problems arise, or something is required.
  • Hand gluing samples and small quantity jobs
  • Organisation of cutting dies in the racking
  • Printing case labels and applying to jobs being despatched
  • Flexibility to help in other areas of the business when required
  • Operation of digital printers and software including media and toner replenishment.
  • File manipulation ready for printing
