SAFE! Support for Young People Affected by Crime is an independentcharity working across the Thames Valley. We are looking to recruita Digital Engagement Officer to help us to develop our digital footprint and act as a point of contact for young people and their family through our text support service.

Role:Digital Engagement Officer
Location and hours: Oxford, full time or part-time hours considered

Salary: NJC scale 12 to 17 (£24,496 to 26,845 pro rata)

Are you the right candidate?

We are looking for someoneto facilitate a new text support service which will be available to young people and their families who require help and guidance whilst they are waiting to be allocated to a practitioner. You will quickly engage and build trust to help facilitate a conversation. You will listen to the needs of young people without judgement and signpost them and their families to resources and other agencies where appropriate. You will keep up to date records of your conversations and feedback on any details that can help to form a full assessment of a young person’s needs.

You will also be responsible forcreating content and managing our social media presence to engage young people and their families, our supporters, stakeholders and the wider public. You will create supportive digital content aimed at young people whilst providing a frontline text support service to young people and their families who have been referred into SAFE!

An enthusiastic self-starter with excellent communication skills, you will have a natural enthusiasm to create digital content that can reach different audiences across a range of social media platforms. You will be responsible for managing a calendar of social media activity that raises awareness and campaigns on behalf of the young people that we support and act as a point of contact on our social media platforms, responding appropriately to social media engagement and signposting people to our website should they require more information about the services that we provide.

Applicants will have a good understanding of confidentiality and safe working practices and maintenance of records in accordance with the Data Protection (GDPR) Act. In addition you must be able to demonstrate your active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity.
