I am currently working with an engineering business based in Cannock who are a sub-contract sheet metalworking company.  Due to natural progression, they now have a requirement for a Despatch Operative to join their existing team on the shop floor.
 
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Despatch Operative will be responsible for the goods out area.  They willl be communicating with transport companies, as well as undertaking deliveries to customers within the local area, driving the company vehicle.
The ideal candidate for the Stores & Despatch Operative role will have:
  • A good working knowledge of stores and despatch operations.
  • The ability to communicate well with both external customers and internal staff.
  • Gained previous experience in a similar role.
  • An in-date Counterbalance Forklift licence.
  • A full clean driving licence and be over 25 due to insurance restrictions.
  • Good PC skills.  Training will be given on the in-house system.
In return the Despatch Operative can expect to receive a competitive salary, 33 days flexible holiday entitlement and free onsite parking.  The working hours for this role will be Mon-Thursday 07:30-16:00 (30 Mins break) and Fri 07:30-13:00 (No break), however, a degree of flexibility will be expected if there is the requirement to cover other shifts.
