Designer / CAD Technician

A great opportunity is available for a Designer / CAD Technician to join an industry leading construction specialist in High Wycombe. The company work on a variety of exciting projects across the UK and due to continuous growth require a Designer to join their team. the company predominantly focus on interior fit-out projects for the commercial sector therefore experience within a relatable field would be desired (i.e. joinery, interior design, partitioning etc,).

Designer Position Overview

• Attend Design Handover Meetings from the estimating department and agree / compile a design brief for the project.
• Assist Sales / Estimating departments
• Identify key interfaces with adjacent structures or finishing trades.
• Produce Drawing Schedules, Models, Families, General Arrangement and Working drawings for Design team approval, following the design procedure laid out in Optima Group BMS.
• Ensure all design solutions offered by the company are fully compliant with the project particulars, statutory requirements, building regulations, relevant codes of practice, and good practice.
• Attend Design Meetings as required throughout the design process.
• Produce Fabrication information or component drawings, as required, to an agreed program.
• Visit Sites as necessary to ascertain conditions, carrying out basic surveying if required.
• Select external designer/structural engineers/consultants where relevant.
• Check all elements to a project, including Models, Drawing Schedules, General Arrangement Drawings, Working Drawings and Fabrication information.
• Assist Contract/Project Managers with the production of accurate, realistic design programs for current or forthcoming projects.
• Provide Design and Technical Support for all other departments as required.
• Check Project BIM requirement/protocols on any new project. Implement into design program all models and information needed.

Designer Position Requirements

• Experienced in CAD / Revit software
• Experience in a relatable field (i.e. Interior Design, Joinery, fit-out etc.)
• Commutable distance to High Wycombe
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Designer Position Remuneration

• Starting salary £24,000 - £30,000 (dependant on experience)
