Design Technician

Multi Trades Recruitment is currently seeking a talented Design Technician to join our team. As a Design Technician, you will work closely with our clients and project managers to create detailed design plans and technical drawings for construction projects.

About the Role:

• Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm, Friday 9am-4.30pm.
• Coordinating all design matters between the project’s stakeholders (participating in design meetings and providing input on design concepts and solutions, ensuring that all is compliant with building regulations).
• - Ensure that workloads are prioritised in line with project programmes and deadlines.
• - Price Design and Build tenders from first principles by measurement and application of unit rates.
• - Providing technical documentation to support tenders/quotations and design related queries.
• - Liaise regularly with project management teams.
• - Ensure that drawings are completed to the highest of standards.
• - Designing and drawing layouts, foundations plans and elevations for modular projects.
• - Assisting with allocated ongoing projects, basic design changes and revisions.
• - Attending site visits, assisting our Senior Design Manager.
• - Assist in the coordination of project activities with clients, contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• - Be able to undertake full planning and building regulations submissions.

About You:

• Proficient in AutoCAD detailing
• - Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office,
• - Technically strong with a good understanding of the construction industry and modular buildings
• - Experience in modular buildings / main contractor would be highly advantageous.
• - Strong communication skills across all levels in both written and verbal
• - Excellent negotiation and relationship building skills.
• - Familiar with working in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple projects at any one time.
• - Ideally will have a HNC or higher in Design, Architecture and/or Engineering or similar.
• - UK driving licence

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in a related field
• Knowledge of building regulations and construction processes
• Experience in the construction industry is preferred
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ideally will have a HNC or higher in Design, Architecture and/or Engineering or similar.
• UK driving licence
