My client have been an integral part of the British landscape for decades, and you will have seen our market-leading products many, many times. They provide products that go beyond their inevitable day-one 'wow factor' and become part of their location in a way that feels natural, almost generational, as if they were always there and always meant to be there. They are now looking to bring in a new Design Engineer to their team to grow with the company and expand their knowledge.

(Design Engineer) - Position Overview

  • Create High-quality detailed technical drawings and plans based on designs supplied by architects and designer and make modifications to existing drawings.
  • Use Solidworks and AutoCAD to create designs in 2D and 3D models.
  • Provide accurate, detailed and to scale drawings
  • Present working drawings for us in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture/construction and installation.
  • Issue manufacture drawings to the workshop
  • Checking delivered Metalwork ensuring they are delivered to drawings provided.
  • Liaising with the Workshop when necessary.
  • Liaising with the Sales Team when necessary.
  • Attend Team meetings where applicable.
  • Issue CAD drawings to Customers for approval
  • Issue Metalwork drawings to vendors for quotes.
  • Create and issue metalwork purchase orders.
  • Action emails in a timely manner
  • Delegate workloads
  • Ensuring that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
  • Checking drawings against designs before issuing approval.
  • Coordinating with Customer/Engineer/Architects to ensure stakeholder satisfaction with Projects.
  • Provide effective leadership and management.

(Design Engineer) - Position Requirements

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks, AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
  • Strong technical drawing skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Leadership and management abilities to delegate tasks and ensure project milestones are met.
  • Problem solving skills to address design and manufacturing issues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise task effectively.
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and project budget adherence.
  • Familiarity with Project management principles.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and wiliness to stay updated on industry needs.

(Design Engineer) - Position Remuneration

  • Salary of £35k - £45k depending on experience.
  • 5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8:45am - 17:15pm
  • Overtime available
  • Company Pension
  • On site parking
  • 28 days holiday including Bank Holidays.
