Design Draughtsperson

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting one of the UK's largest port groups in the in the appointment of a Design Draughtsperson to play a crucial role in transforming engineering designs and plans into detailed technical drawings, BOM and site instructions. The Design Draughtsperson will work closely with Engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance with company, third party, client and legal requirements and will have a strong background in Civil/Structural Draughting and proficiency in CAD software.

Responsibilities of the Draughtsperson include but are not limited to the following:

• Create detailed drawings, plans and schematics using CAD software.
• Assist engineers in structural designs, layouts and construction plans.
• Review designs for accuracy, completeness and adherence to specifications.
• Prepare project documentation, set up and maintain a drawing register and template to track and manage all projects efficiently.
• Perform quality checks on drawings and communicate with multi-discipline teams and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve any issues.

Requirements of the Draughtsperson:

• Strong experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software including AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction techniques
• Attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and documentation.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• HNC, HND or degree in civil, structural engineering or related field.
• Background in civil or structural draughting.
